The EAP is in an ongoing effort to promote awareness, to suggest ways to discuss suicide in a supportive fashion and to provide guidance and resources for those at risk.

Recognizing Warning Signs

Suicide can affect anyone—regardless of age, gender, background, or job role. Recognizing the warning signs in yourself or others can make a life-saving difference.

If you notice the following signs in yourself or someone else, don’t ignore them. Reach out


  • Talking about feeling hopeless or having no reason to live
  • Expressing feelings of being trapped or in unbearable pain
  • Withdrawing from friends, family, or co-workers
  • Extreme mood swings or noticeable changes in behavior
  • Increased use of alcohol or drugs
  • Giving away possessions or saying goodbye



Self Assessment

Taking a suicide risk self-assessment can be a first step toward understanding your mental health and getting the support you need.


The Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) is a nationally recognized tool that helps identify suicide risk by assessing thoughts, behaviors, and intent—guiding timely support and connection to care.
